About Our Founder, Elizabeth “Liz” Soc
Education, Honors and Awards
Liz is a Virginia-barred attorney and has been practicing since 2012. She graduated with honors from both the Penn-State Dickinson School of Law, where she earned her J.D., and George Mason University, where she earned her Bachelor’s.
Liz hung her shingle directly out of law school, and her first four years practicing was as a solo practitioner in a general civil and criminal defense practice. During that time, she also served as Of Counsel for Greenberg Costle, P.C. in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.
Between 2017 and 2020, before opening her current practice, Liz litigated highly contested domestic relations cases at the Hottell Family Law Group in Fairfax, Virginia, and highly contested personal injury cases at a mid-size injury law firm in Falls Church, Virginia.
Her practice areas include business, contracts, estate planning, and personal injury. Liz was named among Virginia’s 2021 Legal Elite for Business Law in the Virginia Business Magazine.
Liz has had the honor of serving as the 2018-2019 and 2020-2021 Director of Education and 2021-2022, 2022-2023 Director of the Mount Vernon Program for the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorney’s Association (“NVWAA”). In her tenure as the Director of Education and Director of the Mount Vernon Program, Liz has fostered and facilitated a safe forum for open communication and a marketplace of ideas to open the door to mutual respect, thoughtful problem solving, diversity, increased productivity, and enhanced wellness.
Liz is also a proud Board Member and Officer of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Virginia (“APABA-VA”) assisting in furthering its mission to foster professional development, legal scholarship, advocacy, and community involvement to promote justice, equality, and opportunity for Asian Pacific Americans and those who may seek our voice.
